BRUSH YO LASHES.... BUT NOT WHEN WET.

IMG_2231.jpeg

Did you know that when your lashes are wet they are at their weakest?? True story. Brush them out dry.

πŸƒ

Hair is made up mostly of proteins called keratins that are encased by the cuticle. When hair is wet, proteins form weaker bonds (hydrogen bonds), than when the hair is dry. This makes the hair easier to damage.

πŸƒ

When damp hair is combed, it stretches. Unfortunately, when hair is stretched, it doesnt reform into it's naturally dried shape.

πŸƒ

Instead, the stretching deforms the cuticle, causing cuticle edges to lift up and crack.

πŸƒ

Imagine this process when an extension applied. Brushing wet lashes can damage the hair and lead to early lash loss.

πŸƒ

Gently dry your lashes with a lint free towel and brush only once completely dried.

Much love from your lash artist,
